Pete Jones fotografiert Banknoten auf eine sehr spezielle Weise. Auf seinen Reisen durch die Welt schaut er sich an, was hinter dem Geld steckt. Daraus entstehen Werke, die die Facettenhaftigkeit 'des schönen Scheins' sichtbar machen. MAKRO MONEY bringt Dinge zum Vorschein, die man im alltäglichen Umgang mit den Banknoten nicht bemerkt. Winzige Details, exotische Landschaften, politisch-historisch Ereignisse, Köpfe bedeutender Persönlichkeiten, Könige und Despoten oder einfach nur bunte Fische. Jones nähert sich seinem Gegenstand mit höchster, fast chirurgischer Präzision. Doch er nimmt keine Eingriffe vor, sondern bemüht sich „nur“ um eine bessere Wahrnehmbarkeit des Geldes und erschafft damit eine neue, nie da gewesene Sichtweise auf die Schönheit von Banknoten und Facettenhaftigkeit von Geld.
